Whether you graduated a decade or half century ago, coming back together with your classmates for a reunion has special significance. The School of Medicine reunion weekends are designed to give alumni the opportunity to reconnect with one another, to showcase the growing and dynamic campus and to have some fun with your classmates, family and friends while you’re here in St. Louis.
As we planned for Reunion, our priority was to ensure that all attendees (Reunion celebrants, guests, and Washington University staff) be safe and healthy. Although distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine has begun, there is still uncertainty as to when it will be widely available. With that in mind and in consultation with public health experts, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person activities this spring, including Reunion celebrations.
Please know we share your disappointment in this change of plans. This decision was not easy to make; however, health and safety remain our top priority. Together, we can contribute to protecting the well-being of the Washington University community. We are so disappointed that we will not be able to welcome alumni back to campus this year.
Though we cannot gather everyone together, we still encourage you and your classmates to fill out Check-Ups. Perhaps now more than ever being able to connect through these written personal and professional updates is vital. We will compile the Check-Ups for your class and send them to all classmates by early summer.
