Program in Physical Therapy

How Is the Annual Fund Used?

The Annual Fund supports Physical Therapy Program scholarships and financial aid. Ninety percent of the program’s students receive financial assistance in order to attend Washington University School of Medicine.

Why Is It Important?

Alumni giving is used as a recruiting tool with prospective students because it shows how confident and satisfied alumni were with their education at Washington University. This support offers the program’s students the opportunity to participate in research and community projects that complement their education, which results in a more comprehensive experience. Financial support allows these students to pursue opportunities they otherwise might not have had.

Message from the Director

“Thank you in advance for expressing your loyalty and commitment to our program and to the success of our students. Their need is greater than ever and your support is really important! Offering financial support is critical to attracting the best students to our program and enabling them to focus on learning to provide excellent patient care rather than worrying about the financial stress associated with graduate education. Your generosity will assist our students and make their career dreams possible.”

Gifts to the Annual Fund support PT Program scholarships and financial aid. Alumni can make gifts to two other types of scholarships: annual scholarships and endowed scholarships.

The Annual Scholarship Program offers donors the opportunity to sponsor a named scholarship on an annual basis. Your scholarship may be named in honor of yourself, a friend or a family member, or in memory of a loved one. We encourage donors to pledge to renew their annual scholarships each year for a two- to four-year term.

The goal of an endowment gift is to ensure that resources for scholarships will always be available. A portion of the earnings is reinvested each year to help the principal grow and provide an ever-increasing income. Larger endowments increase the support available for each student.

Give back.  Give to the future.
